Hello friends & happy Friday! Boy, am I thankful for Fridays. Did anybody else’s week go by crazy fast? Mine sure did. Today I wanted to share one of my favorite new finds- this gorgeous & girly pink maxi skirt. I have been a little bit obsessed with midi/maxi skirts this past year and have become something of a collector of anything and everything long and flowy.

When I spotted this little gem on Nordstrom for under $50, I knew it would get lots of love in my wardrobe. I absolutely love how feminine and flouncy it is with the wrap fit and tie waist detail. I also think this skirt is incredibly flattering as well. As for sizing, I definitely think it does run true to size. I feel like I am constantly having to get pieces altered (because I am 5’1), so it’s always refreshing to find something that is the perfect length for me. If you are a tall gal, I think this skirt would also look beautiful as a midi skirt paired with neutral sandals or chic wedges! I paired it with my go-to layered, white crop top and my favorite nude heels. This look would be perfect for any spring occasion like a wedding or even Easter! Speaking of Easter, I can’t wait to be back in Texas next Friday. I’ve definitely been having tex-mex withdrawals lately.

Cheers to the weekend!

Mackenzie

Favorite Shoe Trends for Spring 2017

Everybody has their own guilty pleasure. For me personally, it’s shoes. I can admit that I have something of a shoe addiction and that I own more shoes than any human being probably should. They say the first step is admitting you have an addiction, and friends, I definitely have a weakness for shoes. Whether it be strappy sandals, sky-high patforms, or anything in between, I want them all.

I can hardly contain how excited I am for all of the spring trends this season- shoe trends included, of course. I wanted to share three of my favorite shoe trends for this upcoming season that I have been noticing (and loving) lately!

Happy Tuesday! Guess what? I got a new camera, and I am so in love. For the past few years, I have been borrowing my mom’s 11-year-old Canon Rebel. It was great, but it was definitely time for an upgrade. After doing tons of research, I finally found the perfect one (in my price range). I decided to purchase the Canon 6D, and I couldn’t be happier with it. To test out my new camera, my mom & I snapped a few photos of my favorite accessories for spring time. I think these accessories are especially great for spring and summer special events + weddings. For the bag, I opted for an adorable Vineyard Vines straw clutch that I picked up at Nordstrom Rack last year. It’s the perfect size! When the Sam Edelman Yardley lace up sandals came out, I knew they would be definitely be a staple for both work & play. Plus, they are beyond comfy, which is always a perk. I love all the color options, and I have to say the metallic ones are my new faves. To finish the look off, I added an iridescent Kendra Scott necklace. I really love the way they can dress up any look & add just a touch of glam.

With just nine days left of junior year, I have been packing and studying like crazy. My countdown for summer has officially started, and I know I am going to be taking so many photos this summer in California! Let me know if y’all ever want to see posts on photography/cameras/lens/editing/etc.

Have a great week, friends!

Mackenzie

Happy Monday! The best kind of shoes are the ones that you can wear all the time- for work and play. Being the shoe-addict that I am, when I spotted these gorgeous heels on Revolve, it was love at first sight. Not only are they incredible comfortable, they are also very on-trend and give any outfit that extra kick. I paired them with a floral maxi dress for Easter & I wore them again last week with some patterned Mumu shorts and a white, silk blouse. I love that they are perfect for any occasion & I am trying so hard to resist picking them up in another color [ginger suede pictured above]!

Flat Sandals [under $100]

sandals

Happy Saturday! On the search for new sandals this season, but not wanting your wallet to fall flat? There are so many awesome (and affordable) sandals out this season, and I wanted to share some of my new flat & fave finds. Sandals are my go-to shoes during the spring and the summer. With this beautiful weather we’ve been having lately, I’ve been wearing the heck out of my new lace up sandals, pictured above. They look great with any outfit from casual tees and denim shorts to floral sundresses and maxis. Every time I wear them, I get tons of compliments! Best part? They are under $60, so I may need to pick them up in another color.

I’ve linked some of my favorite affordable flat sandals this season below! From easy & everyday to flat-out-fun, let the shopping begin!

Does anything else scream “spring” more than a bold floral print? I don’t think so! When I saw this flirty & fun two piece outfit at a local boutique in my hometown, I knew instantly that it would be the perfect addition to my spring wardrobe. I’ve been obsessed with two piece outfits lately because of how versatile they really are! I especially loved this specific set because of the adorable print, ‘Steel Magnolia’. Steel Magnolia also comes in a romper, crop top, mini dress, maxi dress, and trousers version as well (yay for lots of options!). The mixing-and-matching options are truly endless!

I paired the floral set with cork Tory Burch sandals and a simple black clutch. I definitely plan on rocking the top with denim shorts, white jeans, and neutral skirts this Spring. The shorts would pair perfectly with a chambray button down or any black top. I can’t wait to play around with different combinations all season!

I hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend, and that you are enjoying time with family and friends!

Mackenzie

Totally Clutch

Meet your newest spring obsession. I love clutches. A lot. However, I feel as they are a little underrated. I definitely plan on adding more clutches to my collection this season. I love the clutch because first and foremost, it’s easy to grab & go. In a hurry, but wanting to pack a little more? Toss your clutch into your tote. There are so many chic prints and colors out this season, and I wanted to share some of my faves that I have been eyeing!

Sam Edelman lace up heels (run true to size)

Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a have something of a shoe addiction. I love shoes, possibly a little too much. My feet haven’t grown since about the fifth grade, so I have always used that as an excuse to justify my addiction. I spotted these gorgeous Sam Edelman lace up heels a few months ago, and it was love at first. My mom ended up buying them for her own shoe collection several weeks ago, and I definitely have been ‘breaking them in for her’ (the perks of having the same shoe size as your style savvy mom!). These sandal heels are very comfortable and are incredibly versatile. It can be hard to find heels that aren’t too casual but not too dressy, and these lace up gems are perfect for brunch, church, a spring time wedding, dinner or girls night!

There have been so many awesome spring shoes out this season, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you guys! I’ve been so into the lace-up shoe trend lately, and I think they are so perfect for both spring & summer.

Spring Break Must-Haves: Tan & Tropical

As much as I do love Midterms week (said no college student ever), I am beyond ready for some fun in the sun. This year, I am heading back to Florida to enjoy spring break with my sorority sisters. There’s nothing I love more than hitting the beach & soaking up the sun. With this dreary weather we’ve been having here in Oxford, I am ready for a warm getaway!

I hope that you all are having a happy Thursday! Let me know what your spring break plans are this year!

Mackenzie Kendall

Dress: Show Me Your Mumu //  Necklace: Kendra Scott // Boots: Ivanka Trump (linked similar) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

Where the heck did February go? I can’t believe March is already here with spring break just around the corner! Crazy! Just because spring is almost here doesn’t mean you have to put away your over the knee boots just yet. Even though I go to school in the south, it is still chilly here. Though I am dying to break out the halter tops and sandals, I am still taking advantage of this crisp, but sunny, weather. I recently picked up this Show Me Your Mumu dress. I love the Kylie style because it is perfectly casual & beyond easy for everyday wear. I paired it with my favorite black OTK boots and a tassel necklace. However, I definitely plan on throwing it on with a denim jacket and sandals later this month. It could definitely be dressed up with some statement earrings and sky-high wedges as well.

Guess what, friends? I am going to Dallas this weekend! In my three years of college, I have never ‘randomly gone home’. I typically only go home for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Summer. Going to college ten hours away from home is so fun, but sometimes there is nothing better than a relaxing weekend at home. I also need to bring some of my winter clothes home to swap out with my spring pieces. My grandparents are going to be driving through the area, so I am hitching a ride with them all the way back to Dallas! I am so excited to see my fam & catch up on some much needed Tex-mex!

I hope that you all are having a fabulous first week of March!

Mackenzie Kendall
