This morning I wanted to share a recent ‘going out’ outfit I wore recently. I also get asked on my Tumblr about ‘going out’ outfits for college students, and I wanted to show y’all one of my faves. Whenever I shop, whether it be online or in stores, I naturally gravitate towards bright colors and fun prints. I always have. But recently, I’ve been trying to make an effort to opt for versatile neutrals that can be worn with everything. At the beginning of the school year, I picked up this black lace up top. Even though I didn’t think it was too exciting initially, I find myself wearing it all the time. It makes for a perfect fall transition piece paired with black swing shorts, black booties, a black velvet choker, and my favorite piece in my wardrobe – my cactus cardi. Though this cactus cardigan has been sold out for months, Show Me Your Mumu came out with a bull one for fall, and it’s amazing! I absolutely love the chunky fit + the bell sleeves. I am a little excited it’s finally getting chilly here because I’ve been wanting to break out the layers and booties!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Fall Transition Accessories

Even though it’s 90-something outside here in Mississippi, I couldn’t help but remember that fall is just around the corner when I spotted that #PSL’s were back at Starbucks. I have yet to order my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, but I am excited for the weather to cool down a bit so it can start feeling a little bit more like fall. I thought I would go ahead and share some of my favorite fall accessories for those that are already getting to experience a little autumn weather sooner than me! I love summer-to-fall transition pieces, and I have so many that I am dying to break out over the next few weeks.

Cape (similar) | Black Dress (c/o) | Boots (now more than half off!) | Necklace

Hello, friends! I’ve been obsessed with capes over the past months; I pretty much live in them. I use to be in love with cardigans, but lately, capes have taken over my wardrobe. They are so warm and comfy, and it’s pretty much like wearing a blanket in public. I’m a sucker for comfort. Plus, capes are just such an easy layer to throw on quickly before heading out for the day. If you go out to eat, and it’s warm in the restaurant, you can just take them off! I usually pair my capes with a simple, neutral, long sleeve dress and knee high boots. However, you could also pair them with jeans and booties for a more casual look. I’ve linked some cape suggestions below!

It’s been so incredible being back in Dallas for break. I am home for the next three weeks, so let me know if y’all have any specific posts you would like to see while I am home! This weekend, I am heading to North Carolina for Wake Forest’s bid
day, and I am so excited to finally see Winston-Salem!

Plaid Cape (similar) | Turtleneck Sweater | Khaki Skirt | Black Tights| Tory Burch Riding Boots | Tassel Earrings | “Diva” Lipstick

Happy Monday, friends! I am finally back in Texas, and I couldn’t be happier. There is truly nothing better than being home. It’s been really chilly here, so I decided to pair my warm, plaid cape from the Nordstrom sale with a black turtleneck, a khaki skirt, black tights, and black riding boots. I also added my favorite white tassel earrings. I’ve been obsessed with dark lips lately, so I couldn’t resist wearing my new favorite lip combo (“Diva” Lipstick +a little “Spice Cake” lipgloss).

I absolutely adore plaid. There’s something about it that totally puts me in the holiday mood. From Tartan to Gingham, I love it all. I found some other cute, plaid pieces for the season that I think would also make great gifts!

Dress: Show Me Your Mumu | Kimono: Ivy Jane (similar) | Tights: Target | Booties: Prada (similar)

As we get closer to the end of 2015, it gets even chillier outside (even here in the south). Preparing for colder evenings is a piece of cake with the help of a few layers. To make this fun halter dress appropriate for nighttime, I added a fringe kimono, black tights, and tall, suede booties. If you wanted to dress it up even more, you could always opt for a bold lipstick like ‘Diva‘ or ‘Rebel‘. Both give a great vampy look that’s perfect for any night event!

I hope you enjoyed this little daytime/nighttime look (see the daytime version here)! Check back on Thursday for an exciting review of some awesome bath products that I have been trying out and absolutely loving! Thank you so much for checking out my blog. I hope y’all are having a fabulous weekend!

P.S. – Here is another suggestion of how to wear your favorite dress in the fall time. Pair a leather jacket, knee high boots, and a black clutch with your outfit to add something edgy and exciting for the night! Leather jackets are the perfect option if you want something a little warmer than a kimono. They also make you feel automatically cooler. These tall, suede boots will add extra warmth as well.

Tunic | Clutch (similar) | Sunglasses (similar) | Earrings | Booties

Show Me Your Mumu makes the best tunics ever. The ‘Donna Michelle Tunic‘ is most definitely no exception. I fell in love when I saw this gorgeous kaleidoscope patterned tunic launch on their site a few weeks ago. I love the bold print, and that the colors work perfectly for both fall and spring. I paired it with my favorite fringe booties, gold clutch, cat eye sunglasses, and white tassel earrings. I definitely plan on purchasing a second ‘Donna Michelle Tunic’ in another pattern this season. It’s just so comfy and perfect for travel! I think the print ‘Water Moccasin‘ may be next on my list!

Dress: Free People | Sunglasses: Mirrored Aviators | Earrings: Hoops | Shoes: Fringe Booties | Lipstick: ‘Rebel’

Hello friends! It’s finally Thursday, and the weekend is almost here. There’s nothing I love more than spending my Saturday cheering on the Rebs! I absolutely love fall gamedays, so I thought I would share my new favorite gameday piece with y’all. When I stumbled upon this tunic on Free People, I knew I wanted needed it in my closet. I paired this flowy, floral tunic with my favorite fringed booties and bold lipstick. Because it is technically a tunic, I had a hard time selecting a size because I knew I wanted to wear it as a dress. I decided to go for a ‘large’ to avoid the risk of it being too short! I think it could definitely look great as a top paired with jeans or shorts. Even though this piece is patterned, I find that it is so versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways!

Thank you so much for checking out my blog! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

My Top 10 Fall Accessories

top10

fall2015

Hello friends & happy Tuesday! This has been highly requested over the past two years, and I decided to finally make a visual of my favorite accessories for fall. To be completely honest, I use to hate fall clothes and accessories back in high school. Even though I still prefer summer attire, I have fallin (no pun attended) for all things autumn over the past few years. As soon as it hits October, I start breaking out the boots and dark lips, regardless of the weather. Here are some of my favorite accessories and pieces for fall:

black booties | taupe booties | fringe booties

beige floppy hat | black floppy hat

vamp lipstick | vamp lipgloss

plaid scarf 1 | plaid scarf 2 | plaid scarf 3

copper nail polish | plum nail polish | dark metallic nail polish

red earrings | tassel earrings

taupe wallet | black wallet | tan wallet

socks 1 | socks 2 | socks 3

quilted vest | fur vest

cowboy boots | rain boots | riding boots | duck boots

I would absolutely love to hear what your favorite accessories for fall are! Head back over to the blog on Thursday for a super cute fall outfit post (that includes my new favorite booties). Hope you all are having a fabulous week!

How to Style: Suede Skirt

suede11. Tassel Earrings | 2. Stripe Mock Neck Top | 3. Suede Skirt | 4. Lace Up Sandals | 5. Black High Neck Top | 6. Statement Necklace | 7. Suede Skirt | 8. Fringe Booties

Hello friends! Suede has been SO in this season, and I am loving it. I purchased this rust colored suede skirt a few months ago, and it has easily become one of my favorite pieces for fall. I get asked all the time about how to style suede skirts, and here are two ways that I like to style mine.

Outfit #1 is perfect for those warm, fall days. If you live in the south, you understand the struggle of trying to find fall outfits to wear when it is still in the 90’s! I paired the suede skirt with some black lace up booties and a striped mock neck crop top. I always like to opt for statement earrings instead of a necklace for patterned tops, and I thought these black tassel earrings would tie the whole look together. Outfit #2 is great for chillier days. I paired the suede skirt with a black high neck top and some black, fringe booties. If it’s cold, you could add some black tights and a black fur vest as well for extra warmth. For this specific outfit, I decided to add a bold statement necklace because the rest of the outfit is solid and neutral. I really love the color combination of black/rust with turquoise! I pretty much live in colorful outfits, but lately I’ve been trying to embrace more neutrals in my wardrobe.

If you have a suede skirt, let me know how you like to style yours! Hope you all are having a great week!
