Hello & happy Wednesday! This week has been creeping by pretty slowly, and I am SO ready for the weekend to be here. Apologies that I have been a little behind on my normal posting schedule, but I will be back to posting every Monday very soon! Today’s post is a little bit of a random one, but I wanted to share some of my recent purchases from the past few weeks/months. September Wish-List

Hello & happy Friday. The three-day weekend is almost here! So typically I like to share my ‘monthly favorites’ as the month comes to an end. But to be completely candid, I didn’t have too many new favorites in August. There were of course things I loved and wore over and over, but nothing that I haven’t really mentioned in a previous favorites post. So in light of the upcoming month, I decided to share a little ‘wish-list’. September is a bit of an odd month. It marks the end of one season and transitions us into the next. San Francisco’s weather has been a bit all over the place lately. Last week, it was in the 50’s and today it’s in the 90’s. Though SF doesn’t have defined seasons like Mississippi did, I still want to get in the fall mood a bit and start transitioning away from my linens, flip-flops, and go-to summer color palette. I go through color phases, and I have been hooked on lavenders, blacks, nudes, whites, and millennial pinks recently. I think these colors will be gorgeous in September, and as we get more into October and November, I will start to keep my eyes peeled for burnt orange, tan, and olive green pieces to incorporate into my collection. Shifting my college uniform (aka: XXL tee shirts and nike shorts) into a real-life wardrobe has been quite the process, but I have really enjoyed getting back into putting outfits together on a daily basis.

ONE crepe shift dress (under $50) | TWO black mules | THREE bell sleeve sweater | FOUR platform slides | FIVE farmacy moisturizer | SIX satin lace cami (ordered this one in a size 2; under $20) | SEVEN velvet kimono

When it comes to wish-lists, I try to think of practical pieces that I have had my eye on and think I could really get great use out of the next few months. Now that I have a ‘real job’, I am very conscious of what I could potentially wear to work. For example, that amazing crepe shift dress would be perfect with sneakers, ballet flats, booties, or mules for work. I also think it would look amazing layered under a cozy cardi or cropped denim jacket. It comes in a ton of colors, but I am currently leaning towards the nude. I have been collecting bold hues and wild prints for years, and pushing myself to buy neutral, solid essentials is never really in my comfort zone. A more ‘fun’ piece on my wish-list is this stunning, velvet kimono. I actually just received it in the mail yesterday, and I am really excited to start layering it over my outfits. During the week, I can really see it under a solid blouse + jeans for casual, office attire. With denim shorts + a tank, it would be the easiest piece to glam up any weekend look.

Back to Basics

Hey friends! It’s finally Friday (yasss)! I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done an OOTD [outfit of the day] post. I absolutely love doing OOTDs, but they can be challenging to do during the busy school year. I wanted to share one of my recent OOTDs from this past weekend in Dallas!

white tee | kimono sweater | star choker | strappy bralette (linked similar) | black jeans | bracelet | sandals | purse (similar, cheaper option here)

Do you ever have those days where you feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear? I definitely do. When I have those days that I struggle finding something to wear, I go back to basics. Everybody needs those basic essentials in their closet that go with just about anything and can be thrown on when you’re in a bit of a hurry to get ready. For a day of shopping with my mom, I paired my favorite white vneck with a pair of black distressed AG jeans. These AG jeans are the ‘stilt crop’, and I think they are especially perfect for petite girls (yay for no alterations needed). To make the outfit a little more ‘fall’, I threw on an adorable warm-toned cardigan that I borrowed from my mom. This kimono cardigan is so cozy and would be perfect paired with a sleeveless mockneck swing dress and booties! For accessories, I added a layered wrap choker and cognac sandals with a matching purse (that I borrowed from my mom as well). Basics definitely don’t have to be boring!

blue paisley skirt | white tie top | choker (on sale) | booties

Hello & happy Friday! I am not sure I could tell you when or where I fell in love with paisley. For the past few months, I have been gravitating towards anything and everything printed in paisley. So when I stumbled upon this adorable blue, paisley skirt, I knew I needed to add it to my growing paisley collection. I paired it with a white tie top, metallic choker, and neutral booties. I can definitely see it paired with a black turtleneck and black over the knee boots as it gets chillier outside.

Guess what? At this time next week I will be back in Dallas. I am so excited to see my family & enjoy the Texas State Fair.

When I was little, my mom would always take my sister and I to pick out pumpkins every fall. And every fall, I would always, always pick out a squash. Not a pumpkin, a squash. And every fall, I would literally glew a googly-eyeball to it. Don’t ask me why. I was a strange child.

So this week when my roomies suggested that we go to the local pumpkin patch, I was 100% on board.  Mostly because I wanted to take cute pics and spend time with my friends, but also partly because well, I can’t resist a good fall squash. Let’s be real. We had so much fun photographing our little adventure and picking out pumpkins & squashes to decorate our house with! For the occasion, I wore a burnt orange romper, fringe booties, and a horn necklace. If only it would get a little cooler, I could finally break out some sweaters.

When I first saw the half-up, half-down fun-bun hairstyle, I immediately thought I could never pull that off. For months, I saw pictures on Pinterest and Instagram of girls rocking the half-up, half-down bun [specifically my girl crush, Amanda Stanton from the Bachelor]. During a visit to Wake Forest to see my sister, Alexandra, I ended up finally trying out the hairstyle just for fun. And I fell in love. I weirdly love this hairstyle, and I’ve been wearing it all the time. I think it’s really fun, and it’s perfect for second (or third.. or fourth) day hair!

[becca ‘champagne pop’ & hourglass ‘incandescent’]

Yesterday at the football game, I got a few compliments on my highlight. I realized that I’ve tried out so many highlights over the past few months. My two favorites right now are definitely Becca and Hourglass. I love the Becca highlighter for special occasions and nights out. It gives you that ‘I can see your highlight from space‘ look, and it really pops. I also feel like it’s a pretty universally flattering color. I recently got this Hourglass ‘strobe light’ highlighter in the shade ‘incandescent’. I am really glad I decided to pick it up because I honestly do love it. It’s very subtle and is perfect for those that want to try highlighting’strobing, but don’t want anything over the top. It’s great for an every day look, especially for class. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for the perfect ‘daytime’ highlighter!

[‘Baltic Amber’ candle & geode coaster]

I’ve been adoring these two Antho purchases this past month. Voluspa candles are my absolute favorite. ‘Baltic Amber’ has been my favorite scent for years, especially in the fall & winter. It’s such a warm and cozy scent, and I love it when I am getting ready for bed or taking a bath. As for this coaster, I think it’s such a great decor piece. I feel like it really fits the ‘aesthetic’ of my room this year, and I totally want to order a few more. I love that ‘no two are exactly like’, and they would be such a unique gift for friends and family!

[brown fringe jacket]

I absolutely love fringe for fall time. I picked up this suede jacket several weeks ago, and I think it’s stunning. It has a very vintage feel & it looks amazing in photos. I can’t wait to wear it all fall and winter with swing dresses and rompers. It also comes in black!

[herbalism facial cleanser]

Anybody who knows me knows that Lush is the love of my life. I’ve tried pretty much all of the Lush face cleansers at this point, and I recently repurchased the Herbalism cleanser. My face started breaking out at the beginning of this school year, so I thought I would start using Herbalism again. It’s really great for acne-prone skin, and I feel like it really does help clear up my skin. I personally don’t love the earthy smell, but it really is a great cleanser that I think is definitely worth the money!

I hope you enjoyed this little monthly faves- let me know if you would like to see more of these in the future!
