Mini Apartment Decor Haul

Hello & happy Saturday!!

It’s officially my last weekend in Texas. I have been beyond busy the past few days, scrambling around for the big move. For my first three years of college, I lived on campus- no personal furniture required. This past summer and school year, I rented my furniture for both apartments. However, now that I am officially moving to my first semi-permanent apartment, I will be purchasing my own furniture. I never imagined it would be this stressful (or expensive/time-consuming). I can’t deny that it’s definitely been fun though- I love decor shopping! The packing process has been wild, but I definitely feel like things are starting to come together. I’ve officially ordered all my actual furniture (i.e. bed, couch, coffee table, etc.), and it will be in California by the time I get there next week! Today I wanted to share a few little things I’ve picked up recently for my apartment along with other pieces I have collected over the past year or so. Of course there are so many more things I have to share with you guys over the next few weeks, but I wanted to show some of my personal faves that will be making their way into my new place:

ONE long pillow for bed | TWO gold pen holder | THREE geo coaster | FOUR pillow for couch | FIVE blanket for couch | SIX surf shack book | SEVEN pure colour book (was on my wish-list for weeks) | EIGHT san francisco book | NINE wooden llama

When I first saw the half-up, half-down fun-bun hairstyle, I immediately thought I could never pull that off. For months, I saw pictures on Pinterest and Instagram of girls rocking the half-up, half-down bun [specifically my girl crush, Amanda Stanton from the Bachelor]. During a visit to Wake Forest to see my sister, Alexandra, I ended up finally trying out the hairstyle just for fun. And I fell in love. I weirdly love this hairstyle, and I’ve been wearing it all the time. I think it’s really fun, and it’s perfect for second (or third.. or fourth) day hair!

[becca ‘champagne pop’ & hourglass ‘incandescent’]

Yesterday at the football game, I got a few compliments on my highlight. I realized that I’ve tried out so many highlights over the past few months. My two favorites right now are definitely Becca and Hourglass. I love the Becca highlighter for special occasions and nights out. It gives you that ‘I can see your highlight from space‘ look, and it really pops. I also feel like it’s a pretty universally flattering color. I recently got this Hourglass ‘strobe light’ highlighter in the shade ‘incandescent’. I am really glad I decided to pick it up because I honestly do love it. It’s very subtle and is perfect for those that want to try highlighting’strobing, but don’t want anything over the top. It’s great for an every day look, especially for class. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for the perfect ‘daytime’ highlighter!

[‘Baltic Amber’ candle & geode coaster]

I’ve been adoring these two Antho purchases this past month. Voluspa candles are my absolute favorite. ‘Baltic Amber’ has been my favorite scent for years, especially in the fall & winter. It’s such a warm and cozy scent, and I love it when I am getting ready for bed or taking a bath. As for this coaster, I think it’s such a great decor piece. I feel like it really fits the ‘aesthetic’ of my room this year, and I totally want to order a few more. I love that ‘no two are exactly like’, and they would be such a unique gift for friends and family!

[brown fringe jacket]

I absolutely love fringe for fall time. I picked up this suede jacket several weeks ago, and I think it’s stunning. It has a very vintage feel & it looks amazing in photos. I can’t wait to wear it all fall and winter with swing dresses and rompers. It also comes in black!

[herbalism facial cleanser]

Anybody who knows me knows that Lush is the love of my life. I’ve tried pretty much all of the Lush face cleansers at this point, and I recently repurchased the Herbalism cleanser. My face started breaking out at the beginning of this school year, so I thought I would start using Herbalism again. It’s really great for acne-prone skin, and I feel like it really does help clear up my skin. I personally don’t love the earthy smell, but it really is a great cleanser that I think is definitely worth the money!

I hope you enjoyed this little monthly faves- let me know if you would like to see more of these in the future!

Perfume (stella)| Soap (poppy) | Cheek/lip Stick (bare rose) | Facial Cleansing Sponge (lavender)

Hello, friends! Greetings from Kapalua, Maui! Last week, Anthropologie surprised me with some beauty goodies to try out. I’ve been loving them so much that I just had to bring them all on my island getaway trip. One of my favorite products would have to be the cheek/lip stick in the shade ‘bare rose’. I’ve tried so many ‘lip/cheek’ products in the past, but I have never been impressed. However, this Albeit cheek/lip stick is a total game changer. It is incredibly creamy and is so easy to apply. It has no fragrance at all (which is definitely a plus for me), and you can throw it in your purse or beach bag for a mid-day pick me up. I also love the shade ‘bare rose’ because it gives a very natural, ‘I just worked out‘, flush to the cheeks and lips. Another one of my favorite products would have to be the Mirabeau Bar Soap in ‘Poppy’. Oh my goodness, this soap smells heavenly. When I showed it to my mom, the first thing she said was “that soap smells so fresh”. I couldn’t agree more. I also found this soap to be very moisturizing, and it left a nice, light fragrance on the skin. The most unique product out of this goodie bag would have to be the Dr. Sponge Facial Cleansing Sponge. I’ve never seen a product like it before. I find that this sponge does an awesome job of really exfoliating the skin and getting off every inch of makeup. I really love the lavender version because it really calms and balances my sensitive (and at times, angry) skin.

Now that I am completely hooked on #anthrobeauty, here are ten more products I am dying to try out next:

Molten Geo Soaprock

Mission Grove Sea Salt Scrub

DuWop Seashell Compact

Mermaid Shampoo

Mini Love + Salt Mist

Albeit Nourishing Lip Balm

MOR Lip Macaron Tin

Albeit Shimmer Stick

Mirabeau Bath Salts

When Mask Set

Thank you so much ShopStyle and Anthropologie for sponsoring this post!

Dress • Sandals • Earrings • Clutch (not available- similar) • Book

Whenever I am stuck on what to wear, I always reach for this easy dress. I have already worn it 4-5 now, and I just purchased it last month. I love it because it is not only super comfortable, but it is very versatile. Before heading to Africa, I stopped by Anthropologie with my sister to shop. I had no intentions of actually purchasing anything, I just went with her to browse. Allie tried on this striped green dress, and I fell in love. I am sure she was less than pleased that I ended up purchasing it too, but I just couldn’t help it! When we were checking out, the employee working at the cash register told us that our ‘new favorite dress’ was actually a tunic! She said that her favorite way to style it was to pair it with jeans or shorts and tie it at the waist. I definitely plan on wearing it as a shirt by knotting it at the waist and pairing it with a white skirt. However, I absolutely love it as a dress though! It comes in so many fun patterns- and it runs petite. This dress/shirt/versatile piece was definitely more of a splurge for me, but I would totally repurchase it another pattern in the near future. I find myself constantly wearing it this season.

I decided to pair this dress with my favorite pink tassel earrings (that are now back in stock here!!), neutral sandals, and a hot pink clutch. I purchased this clutch in three colors several years ago at Jcrew. It is such a fantastic clutch that easily works for both day and night!

P.S. These photos were taken back in TX before heading off abroad. I took several pictures back home before heading here that I forgot to post! I will be catching up on posting those photos over the next few weeks! Also, I have been loving this fabulous London tour book from Anthropologie. It has so many fun places and sites recommended by locals! I would definitely recommend picking it up if you are heading to London this summer.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog!
