Sunflower Hour

SHORTS sunflower shorts (size xs) | CAMI white cami (from Topshop, but sold out in every color/every size. Linked similar) | SHOES white converse | PURSE gucci disco | HAT straw fedora (under $100- similar option under $20 here) | EARRINGS silver crescent hoops (vintage- linked dupe under $30) | RINGS silver rings (old from Target- linked similar set)

I am not really quite sure why, but I have never been much of a hat girl myself (in the same way you’ll rarely find me in sunglasses). It’s not like I’ve ever had anything against them, but they just never really came to mind for me. Last Saturday, my dad and I went to the local farmers market, and everybody was rocking the cutest sun hats. For the first time in my life, I decided I finally wanted to get a straw fedora. I searched the internet for a day or so until I stumbled upon this one. Before I purchase pretty much anything, I always do a bit of research (i.e. searching around on google/instagram to see it actually on). It helps give me an idea of how others wear it, and what the piece actually looks like outside of the retailer’s image. After poking around for a bit, I decided it was going to be my summer hat of choice this year. I wanted a hat that was under $100, but also a sturdy, high quality one that I could get tons of use out of. Not only is this one the perfect size (it can be actually be pretty hard to find a hat that doesn’t completely overwhelm you when you are petite), but it’s so versatile. I think it will be a great accessory to pair with breezy, maxi dresses and short, little rompers all season long. Additionally, it will be a staple for the pool/my upcoming trip to Maui!

I paired my hat with a white cami, sunflower printed swing shorts, white converse, and some silver jewelry. I borrowed my mom’s Gucci bag for the outing (because of course we have to swap clothes every single time she comes in town to visit!). It has been crazy hot lately in the Bay Area, which says something coming from a former Texan. To beat the heat, we had some margaritas and hit the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I can’t wait to share one of my favorite buys with y’all tomorrow!

xoxo,

Mackenzie
