Suede Shift Dress: How to Style for Now & Later

Hello, hello! When it comes to clothes, my sister and I typically tend to fall in love with the same pieces. This amazing suede dress is absolutely no exception! I have had my eyes on this stunning little number for months, but Alexandra swooped it up before me. This dress is definitely too amazing not to share with y’all!

Suede has to be one of my personal favorite fabrics for fall (along with velvet & satin). However, suede pieces can sometimes be a little tricky to style. Dresses are so easy to just throw on, and it’s always nice to have those few go-to’s that make getting ready a piece of cake.

FOR NOW

For a end-of-summer dinner, my sister paired this suede dress with a simple choker and neutral wedges. Because this dress is a tank, it is perfect for warm, fall days. I remember how warm it was during “fall” in Mississippi and Texas, and I was always on the hunt for perfect transition pieces. This dress can be paired with some sandals and a crossbody purse for a casual day of shopping or brunch. For dinner or date night, throw on some heels and hoop earrings.

FOR LATER

I have to give my sis complete credit for this idea- but this suede frock would be perfect layered over a long sleeve top for fall and winter. I would probably go for a plain mock neck bodysuit, but I think a lace blouse would be really cool & different. Pair with some booties or tall boots and you are good to go.

Living across the country from each other means no more sharing closets (aka – sometimes ‘borrowing’ things from your sister and trying to sneak them back into her closet before she notices) 🙁

So even though this dress is definitely on the pricey side, I think it’s such a classic piece that could get tons of wear from work to weekend festivities. I am personally torn between the navy and the olive, but I’m definitely ready to splurge on this incredible suede dress for fall. I have linked a few other similar options below that are all under $25! Let me know if you have any suede pieces that you love for fall!

xoxo,

Mackenzie
